Telehealth FAQs:

Q: What is telehealth in Fountain Hills?

A: Telehealth allows your health care provider to provide medical care without an in-person visit. Telehealth typically occurs online with patients using their tablet, smart phone, or computer to talk with medical staff. This care can include, but is not limited to, consultation, diagnosis, assessment, monitoring, and the transfer of medical data. Telehealth does not include emails or texts between your medical professional and you.

Q: Will I receive the same quality of care with telehealth?

A: The telehealth service providers at Fountain Hills Medical Center are committed to maintaining our high standard of care regardless of how our patients come to us. We can provide a number of medical services over telehealth, including conducting clinical histories, monitoring patient wellbeing, medication monitoring, discussing test results, and more. We can also determine via telehealth if your medical issue needs to be addressed in-person. If it is decided that you need to come to our emergency room and do so the same day, the cost of your telehealth visit will be applied to your emergency room care.

Q: How do I prepare for my telehealth visit?

A: We’ll contact you before your visit to ensure you are able to connect to the call, and let you know what digital platform is necessary for you to use. You may need to opt to “enable” your microphone and camera when signing on. Also, when it’s time for your appointment, just make sure you are somewhere comfortable with strong internet connection, and with minimal background noise.

Q: Will my provider be able to order tests and prescribe medication?

A: Yes. Your medical provider will be able to update your records, send prescriptions to your pharmacy, or send orders for any needed tests or follow-ups
