What Insurance does Fountain Hills Medical Center Accept?

A question we get asked very often from current and potential patients is, “do you take my health insurance?” It’s understandable that this is a top concern, as out-of-pocket health care costs can be staggering. Plus, when you’re faced with a medical emergency, the very last thing you want to worry about is whether your medical care facility will work with your insurance.

Here’s the good news: Fountain Hills Medical Center accepts ALL in-network benefits for emergency services. We also accept all in-network benefits for observation services, which include the needed services provided in our medical center while our medical team tries to determine whether more intensive care is needed. Lastly, we accept and bill all major insurance providers for non-emergency medical care.

The major medical insurance plans we accept and bill include Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, and United Health. We also accept government administered insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, and Indian Health. Private-pay payments can be accepted in the form of check, cash, or credit card.

But what about the portion of your care that your insurance won’t cover? It’s simply not an issue at Fountain Hills Medical Center. Many medical providers or medical centers require patients to pay the difference between what their insurance covers and what the medical center or doctor charges, and this is called balance billing. But at Fountain Hills Medical Center our patients are not balance billed, even when we’re considered out-of-network by your insurance plan. This is an important distinction between Fountain Hills Medical Center and other medical providers.

Because we choose to not balance bill, that means:

  • Our insured patients don’t have to make the tough decision to forgo medical care for fear of high out of pocket costs
  • Our insured patients will never be faced with unexpected and high medical bills
  • There is no confusion about insurance coverage and patient responsibility
  • Insured patients don’t have to “pick and choose” which care they accept because of the high cost of various types of care
  • There will be an absence of patient-provider conflict regarding payment, as well as an increased level of transparency about medical care and associated costs

And what if your insurance company isn’t cooperating, and won’t pay for your emergency service? We know that in the state of Arizona there is a law that mandates that insurance carriers pay for the emergency evaluation of patients. We encourage you to file a grievance at https://insurance.az.gov/  if your insurance plan tries to refuse to pay for your medical care.

At Fountain Hills Medical Center, our goal is to remove financial barriers to health care as much as we’re able. By accepting all major health insurance plans, government administered plans, and patients who choose to privately pay, we’re proud to keep our doors open to anyone who needs medical care. You can walk through our doors knowing that you’ll be given boutique-style and top-level medical care regardless of your insurance carrier, insurance plan, or private pay status, and you WON’T be balance billed. Because our medical center is owned and operated by certified medical staff, we always have quality and patient welfare as our top priority.

So when you ask us, “do you take my insurance?” we’re proud of our “yes” answer, and promise our patients so much more.
