I’ve been fortunate to work at Fountain Hills Emergency Room and Medical Clinic for the past two years. Nursing has always been my calling, ever since I was a young child watching the TV show Ben Casey around the age of three. I even told my Grandma I was going to become a nurse, and her response was, “That’s great. You’ll always have something to fall back on.” I remember thinking, “Do nurses fall down?” At that time, in the early 1960s, it was uncommon for women to work after marriage or children, so things have certainly changed!

What I love most about working at Fountain Hills is the close-knit, family-like atmosphere where we all work together toward a shared goal. I also adore the small-town charm of Fountain Hills—it’s a true slice of Americana. Plus, the convenience of not having to commute 30 miles to work every day is a definite bonus!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading (especially finishing a whole book in a day!), and—fun fact—I’m a big fan of pinball!
